Emric has offered the Nordic banking and financial market support systems and business advisory services for lending operations since the middle of the 1990s, including everything from simple blanco loans for private individuals to complex lending products aimed at businesses.

In 1994 the banking company E. Öhman J:or AB established the home loan institution Bokredit, which was sold in 1999 to Den Danske Bank, though it retained the systems developed to optimize the credit process and created a new company, Öhman Financial Systems, which eventually became Emric.

Below is a short timeline:

• 1999
  EMRIC is established in its current form after the sale of the 
  home loan institution.
• 2001
  EMRIC becomes an independent company with E. Öhman J:or 
  and the personnel as the largest owners.
• 2004
  EMRIC establishes a presence in the Norwegian market by
  acquiring a company that became the basis of Emric's Norwegian
  operation.
• 2005
  EMRIC experiences a year of strong expansion. Revenue
  increased by 100%, over half of which was due to the acquisition
  of the consulting business Eldean AB, which now changed its
  name to Emric IT-Consulting AB.
• 2005
  EMRIC launched its innovative Finance Process Outsourcing
  business, offering turnkey finance companies, including 
  coordinating the operation launch for the entire administration
  and credit process.
• 2006
  EMRIC Business Consulting is established, offering business
  advisory services with respect to an organization's credit and
  risk management policies and procedures.
• 2007
  EMRIC acquires parts of WM-Data's business and takes over 
  ownership of the back office system WinFinance, including 12
  new employees.
• 2007
  EMRIC is acquired by Bisnode AB (70% owned by Ratos and 30%
  by Bonniers). The acquisition involves 50.1% of EMRIC shares.

Emric currently has about 90 employees in four business areas: Business Consulting, Software Solutions, Finance Process Outsourcing, and IT Consulting

And if you were wondering about the background of our name, Emric was named after the founder of the Öhman Group, Emric Öhman J:or. Mr. Öhman founded Bankirfirman E. Öhman J:or in the early twentieth century. His first name "Emric" was a combination of his mother's first name, Emma, and his father's first name, Eric.
