On 28 September EMRIC held its annual seminar for clients, partners and colleagues in the industry. The topic of the seminar was INNOVATION AND VALUE CREATION. Professor Robert Austin from Harvard Business School was the keynote speaker. He described how we in the West need to focus more on revenue-generating innovations and not merely on cutting costs. In-depth industry knowledge and modern IT systems that can be quickly adapted for new products and services are essential if the financial sector is to be innovative and create new revenue-generating services and products. Professor Austin pointed out that most of the traditional sectors of industry have a lot to learn from the way performers, artists and designers work on a daily basis.

During EMRIC Day our clients and industry colleagues were active in a very exciting and open discussion at a panel debate moderated by Ulf Dinkelspiel. The panel consisted of Peter Gertman, Vice president of SBAB, Lennart Grabe, CEO of Sv Hypotekspension, Klas Danielsson, CEO of Nordnet, Lars Ardehed and Öivind Engebö CEO and Vice President of Kaupthing Finans. The panellists shared their recipes for success and how to be an innovative player in the Nordic banking and finance market.
